My Work with Pebbles
There are numerous ways of using pebbles, either in the garden, on house walls, containers, steps, planters, let your imagination explore.
I like to use pebble designs on the “face” of a wall when you have “above ground” concrete block built garden planters, as you can see in the photographs below the transformation is amazing and the finish is long lasting and with no maintenance - great!

Pebbles also look good when used on the “risers” of steps around the garden giving a natural and timeless look or to cover those awkward little areas not deep enough to render but needing something to finish it off.
Iain’s work with stone, brick and rusticos
My husband Iain has a more traditional skill using natural stone for the cladding walls or using it as a patio finish, maybe incorporating manufactured pavement slabs or “rusticos” to form attractive patterns.
Here in Spain we have available a lot of “rustic” style slabs and bricks which look very attractive in the garden setting and make lovely raised beds, patio areas, steps, barbeques, exterior kitchens, pillars with pergola tops covered in climbing plants to keep out the summer heat, and much more.
Life in Spain is not all sunshine though! In fact this part of Spain, especially where we are situated in the hills behind Marbella, it seems to come up with most kinds of weather at some point during the year. It is very important to take this fully into consideration when having any kind of work carried out on your property or it can result in an expensive mistake.

Although it would be rare to suffer even a light frost during the winter it is a certainty that we will suffer greatly with high winds, heavy bursts of rain, thunder storms (2007 brought a storm of hail the size of golf balls, damaging property, cars and crops). Having this local knowledge and experience is very important in the creation of a garden for all seasons and one that will be sustainable for years to come giving its owner endless pleasure,
If you require any kind of maintenance, patio or design work carried out on your property, Iain will be pleased to give advice by telephone or email.
